Tenaga Nasional Berhad edged UniKL 1-0 to keep their hopes alive of finishing second in the Premier Division of the TNBMHL at the USM Stadium in Penang this evening.

The win puts TNB a point behind current second placed Maybank at 18 points with two league matches each to be played next weekend in Kuala Lumpur.

Despute the win it was hardly an impressive display from a team that fired blanks despite having the likes of Faisal Saari, Firhan ashaari and Amir Farid, in what is deemed as the best attacking forwardline in the MHL>

It took a goal from seasoned campaigner Mohd Madzli Ikmar in the 47th minute to secure TNB the win and they must surely be worried with their poor display in the two matches up north as the were beaten 3-1 by Sapura on Friday.

UniKL can hold their heads high despite the defeat as they held their own against top notch players of their opponents are were never overwhelmed in a match where they could have collected at least a point had they been sharper.

"I guess it can be considered as a good performance despite losing. We had several chances but I suppose the players lack composure in the semi circle and this can only get better after gaining the necessary experience, said uniKL coach Arul Selvaraj.

"It is never easy playing TNB but the gap is getting closer and that is important as the players have started believing."
