The four players involved in the post match incident at the KL Hockey Club and Yayasan Negeri Sembilan match will know their fate tomorrow (Tuesday) when the Technical Committee of the Malaysian Hockey League meets.
The four, Megat Azrafiq and Nabil Fiqri of KLHC as well as Deepak Thakur and Vivek Gupta of YNS were involved in a scuffle after the match played at the KLHA Hockey Stadum in Pantai on Sunday. KLHC defeated YNS 6-3.
While an incident such as this was to be expected in a highly charged up match, the lack of security personel on duty is an area that MHF should also view with concern.
The MHL's sponsors, Tenaga Nasional Berhad provide security personnel for matches played at the Tun Razak Stadium, but even there it is not adequate as entry onto the pitch from the grandstand area is free for all.
"We have received a report from the umpires and the Technical Officer on duty and a meeting will be held to discuss the contents of the report as well as to take necessary action, if any, on the incident," said Hashim Yusof, the Chairman of the Technical Committee.
